IPv6 moves beyond the drawing board

Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6) is moving out of experimental, research networks and into commercial deployment, a networking expert told In.Tech on the sidelines of Apricot 2004.
"As an analogy, if one IPv4 address weighed one gram, all the IPv4 addresses in the world would weigh 1/76th the weight of the Empire State Building in New York.

“If one IPv6 address weighed 1g as well, all the IPv6 addresses possible would weigh 56.7 billion times the weight of planet Earth,” said Doyle.
