Japan and China to explore 4G

Japan and China are to collaborate in trial of 4G mobile phone technology that offers greater speed than current 3G mobile phones.
Japanese officials said tests would commence in December and could last for 3 years. The experiment will made use of IPv6 (Internet Protocol Version 6) technology and is expected to reach data transmission speeds of 100 Mb per second. Current 3G technology is only capable of 2.4 Mb per second but current commercial networks falls below of this mark.
