In the not-so-distant future, nearly everything will have an IP address. Devices ranging from toasters to automobiles will be fully connected to the Internet, exponentially increasing the number of unique IP addresses needed to keep up with demand. With IPv4 address-pool depletion approaching quickly, IPv6 is on the minds of many.
