Organizations who haven't made the transition to IPv6 got a warning on World IPv6 Day as the new protocol got a real-world test. More than 225 participants switched to IPv6 for 24 hours to prepare for September, when IPv4 addresses will run out. In addition to growth, IPv6 brings routing, configuration and other advantages to the Internet.
