Deployment of IPv6 (Internet Protocol version 6) in place of IPv4 (version 4) is likely to take a very long time, even though IPv4 might exhaust its capacity by 2011. Both versions of IP are likely to co-exist. Upgrading the hardware is a major challenge in deploying the IPv6.
