CNNIC calls for government support on commercial use of IPv6

Government support is needed if China is to migrate to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6), an advanced system for assigning addresses to devices on the Internet, before addresses supplied by the established IPv4 system are exhausted, a senior China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC) official said Sept. 23.
