The recent recommendations of Trai for creating a National Internet Registry for managing IP addresses in India is the logical way forward for our nation, given the fact that the National Internet Exchange of India has already been set up.

It has been recommended by Trai that India's National Internet Registry (NIR) could serve to provide a local service point for delegation of IP addresses to the service providers and users in India.
