CIO Council gives agencies 'chapter 1' for IPv6 implementation

In preparation for the transition to Internet Protocol version 6, agencies should incorporate the new technology into their strategic plans and update their enterprise architectures by February, according to the CIO Council.

The CIO Council Architecture and Infrastructure Committee earlier this month issued Chapter 1 of its IPv6 implementation guidance, detailing steps agencies should take to prepare to meet the June 2008 deadline for incorporating the new technology.
