Chelsio Communications, Inc., the established leader in 10-Gigabit Ethernet server adapters and protocol acceleration technology, today announced its products were used to set new Internet2 Land Speed Records (I2-LSR) in both the IPv6 single-stream and IPv6 multi-stream categories. Chelsio partnered with the University of Tokyo and the WIDE Project to successfully transfer data at a rate of 5.58 Gbps over a distance of 35,755 kilometers traversing the WIDE, IEEAF and JGN2 networks. The team achieved a mark of 167,000 terabit-meters per second (Tb-m/s), which more than doubles the existing record, surpassing it by 131 percent. |
